Jon Retzer, Deputy National Legislative Director, spoke outside of the Capitol yesterday during the ’War Cry for Change to End Veteran Overprescribing’ event hosted by the Grunt Style Foundation. A National Veterans Harm Reduction Roundtable took place after remarks outside the building.
81 years ago today, the Allied force assault of Normandy, France, changed the direction of World War II, but came at a heavy price. Last year, in honor of the 80th anniversary of D-Day, DAV caught up with two D-Day veterans who shared their experiences landing on the beaches of Normandy. Read their stories here: dav.la/3ss.
DAV members take The Independent Budget to Capitol Hill to educate Congress and advocate for full funding of VA care. Shortly after the in-person event on Capitol Hill, DAV members reinforced the importance of this year’s Independent Budget during their member meetings at the 2025 DAV Mid-Winter Conference in Washington, D.C.
