DAV is an organization of veterans helping veterans.
The reasons are as individual as our members. Some join for the fellowship at our more than 1,200 local chapters. Some for the inspiring national events. Others for opportunities to serve their fellow veterans and their families. And many join to continue the fight to support the rights and benefits of all veterans. DAV believes in taking care of America’s veterans—but not by taking away from other veterans. The Take Care of America’s Veterans Act includes critical priorities for veterans and their families. But Congress must not pass TCAVA at the expense of future veterans who are equally entitled to their earned benefits. Congress must remove Section 108 and then pass TCAVA.
Barrett Firearms recently held a campaign, alongside country musician artist Brantley Gilbert, to support DAV and our mission in providing life changing support to the men and women who served our country. The campaign raised more than $40,200. The donation will support the many veterans, family members, caregivers and survivors we serve.

Veteran’s benefits are earned through service and sacrifice, they are not government handouts. Congress should never try to balance the budget on the backs of disabled veterans. We should keep the promise for today’s and tomorrow’s veterans. Remove Section 108 and then pass the Take Care of America’s Veterans Act.
Later this month, DAV is sponsoring A Nation Remembers Veterans Weekend (Sept. 16–20, 2026) at the Ark Encounter in Williamstown, Kentucky. Throughout the weekend, attendees will have a meaningful and uplifting experience featuring ceremonies, tributes, family-friendly activities, concerts and an 80% Replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall.
