This June, DAV recognizes the service and sacrifice of LGBTQ+ veterans. Many served during eras shaped by policies like Don't Ask, Don't Tell, often carrying both the challenges of military service and the added weight of hiding who they were. Even today, some face higher risks of isolation, barriers to care and difficulty accessing earned benefits.

Supporting veterans means recognizing the full reality of their experiences and making sure no one is left out of the benefits they’ve earned.

There is no one right way to be a caregiver, but having someone to help along the way can provide a sense of relief. That is why DAV Caregivers Support was created.
